Breast Cancer Haven in Leeds use LogiSon sound masking to provide a peaceful and confidential environment |
The Breast Cancer Haven in the centre of Leeds provides free support and complementary therapies for anyone affected by breast cancer. In 2008 a survey by Acoustic Comfort revealed that a combination of partition construction from floor to ceiling and low background sound was causing poor speech privacy between rooms. Conversations, even at relatively low volumes, could be heard clearly between therapy rooms and occupants of some rooms could clearly hear the efforts of the fund raisers in the next door open plan office. After pledges of financial support were received in 2010 the LogiSon sound masking system was installed raising the background sound level to suit the function and acoustics of each room providing the peaceful, relaxing and private environment required.
